The use of these aluminum pumps dates back to the Boss 302 and Boss 351 Trans AM and Grand National (NASCAR) Racing programs or the early 1970s. Although the D0ZX casting for this pump has been in use by Ford for a long time, the internal shaft bearing has been upgraded to a roller bearing system for improved life and to reduce the drag on the engine. The housing and the impeller are still the same as they were 40 years age and still wear the D0ZX and D0ZE Ford engineering numbers. (When you get it right the first time, it is hard to improve.) This pump will fit any small block Ford engine! It can be used as it is on any 351C engine including the Boss 351 or 351CJ Cobra Jet by as is, or install a rear pump cover from another small block water pump and it will be ready to use on any 260, 289, 302, Boss 302, 351W, or 351 Ford SVO Racing engine. This water pump is also machined to allow the use of larger diameter engine dampers preferred by NASCAR race teams. You can bet that if NASCAR teams rely on this pump for cooling their high reving racing engines then it is the best available on the market. This pump originally sold for several hundred dollars and is long obsolete from Ford.
