245 lumen 20x Plasma SMD Bulb 194 T-10 Wedge - 360 Wide Angle
This is the latest custom designed 12V LED bulb from HiPo Parts. These new 245 lumen Plasma SMD bulbs were specifically designed to produce a wide angle 360 degree light pattern that is optimized for instrument lighting. The ultra compact design of this bulb allows it to easily fit inside factory instrument clusters, even those clusters that use plastic filters to color the light. They are a plug and play bulb designed to fit perfectly into the existing sockets in your vehice.
We focused our design efforts to meet the challenges of lighting instrument clusters found in vintage vehicles. Because the gauges of vintage vehicles are the most difficult items to light, we designed these bulbs to overcome the common obstacles that affect those vehicles. The result is a balanced and efficient bulb that excels in illuminating instruments, but also provides outstanding results for other vehicle lighting purposes. They an excellent upgrade for side marker lamps, interior and exterior lighting, and other applications where a significant light increase is needed.
The main features of this bulb include:
- 20 Plasma SMDs that produce approximately 245 lumens with only 2 Watts!
- A non-polarized design for easy install
- Electrical contacts that are part of the PCB for a more durable design
- A compact design that is slightly shorter than a common 194 bulb
- Low Current Draw (approximately one half of the current drawn by an ordinary 194 bulb)
- Produces significantly less heat than a common 194 bulb
These bulbs feature a T-10 wedge type base (see chart for base compatibility). They provide superior results in applications where light is needed both from the sides of the bulb and from the end of the bulb to illuminate the intended area. These LED bulbs are the best choice for for gauge clusters, automotive side marker lamps, and more. Choose from six colors or mix and match to suit your needs.
Need a little help finding the correct bulb for your application? Check out our handy conversion table below for the two most common base types.
Bulb Base Compatibility Table
Base Type | Incandescent Bulb Numbers (Popular Bulbs in Bold) |
T-10 (Wedge) | 147, 152, 158, 159, 161, 168, 184, 192, 193, 194, 259, 280, 285, 447, 464, 555, 558, 585 |
This table displays bulb base compatibility. Please be sure you have clearance for the LEDs in your application. |
Benefits of LED bulbs include: Low current requirements, low heat output, extra long bulb life (avg. of over 10,000 hours), no bulb fade with age, increased brightness, vibration resistant, and many more.
Note: T-10 type LED bulbs are polarized. If they do not light, turn them around in the socket & they will light.

The best LED bulb for license plate, third brake light and cargo light I've found
Posted by Scott B on 21st Feb 2024
Since they came out LEDs have been hit or miss, mostly miss IMO. The color or light temperature differences, the positioning of the LEDs, how they interact with the light lens, hot spots, quality components, surface mounting, on and on.
These meet the mark IMO. From the packaging to the feel of the light bulb itself. In my case, I needed the light beam to be more horizontal to interact with the light lens. No more stray light going up my tail gate effecting the rear camera at night. They worked perfectly abd just as bright in my cargo/3rd brake light as well.

Best LED I have tried
Posted by Unknown on 23rd Oct 2023
I tried a lot of LED bulbs from Amazon and Ebay with very limited success. A guy on a forum said these were a great bulb, so I gave them a try. I did not expect them to be this good. I love that there is no "wrong way" to install them. They work in BOTH directions which makes them awesome for places that are difficult to replace, like my instrument panel! I'll be back for more.

Very bright but use warm white
Posted by Steve Smith on 17th Dec 2022
For a 1973 mustang dim clock display these will work but you should use warm white (3000k) with blue lenses. These will match up with Hipo elite bright version warm white with stock blue lenses. (3000k). Clock is now visible and looks good.

Extremely bright!
Posted by Mark P on 28th Jan 2021
These bulbs are extremely bright! Being non-polarized, it is possible to use these bulbs in the side markers of my 70 Mustang Mach 1. Most other bulbs seem to be polarized and will not work with the unique circuitry of my car. These bulbs, however, allow me to use LED's on almost all of my exterior lights. I highly recommend these bulbs and also highly recommend Hipo Parts Garage for their always-excellent customer service.

Love The Cool White LED's
Posted by Gary Lewis on 18th Mar 2020
I tested the HiPo Cool White, Warm White, and Blue 245 lumen LEDs and compared them to some other blue LEDs as well as new incandescent bulbs with the blue filters in my 85 F250's instrument panel here: I'm really pleased with the Cool Whites, and highly recommend them over anything else I've tried in the Bullnose trucks.

Way brighter than I expected
Posted by Juan on 31st May 2019
The ad says they are 245 lumen. I expected that to be an inflated number. I can't measure if it is correct, but these are really bright compared to any other bulb I have seen. I would buy again in a heart beat. Worked great for my truck. Thanks!

perfect lighting for mustang center console gauges
Posted by Unknown on 18th May 2019
I wanted near factory looking green tint lighting for the center gauges of my 71 Mustang Mach 1 as opposed to a bright green LED.
The design of the gauge cluster isnt optimum for lighting the gauges and that combined with repro blue domes that are frosted looking resulted in very dimly lite gauges.
I talked to Bill and he suggested trying these 245 lumen, 20x plasma, 360 wide angle LEDs. These are PERFECT for my application. Gauges are now well lite and dimmable and work very well with aftermarket blue domes.
Thanks Bill!
