30 (18 + 6) LEDs for increased light distribution! Example Sold Individually
Available with 1156 type bulb base in White OR
1157 type bulb base in either Red or Yellow (Amber)
These 12V DC have 18 forward facing LEDS and 1 row of 6 side firing LEDs for a more effective filling of most taillamp housings. The combination of forward and side firing LEDs provides light in over 240 degrees providing a significant improvement over standard LED bulbs with only forward facing LEDs. These bulbs can be used for a variety of lighting purposes and are ideal for applications requiring a wide lighting angle such as applications using a lamp housing that redirects the light toward the lens, such as taillamp housings.
1156 type: 1156 bulbs are designed to operate in applications requiring a single contact on the base of the bulb. These single function bulbs are typically used for reverse lamps and other lighting purposes where dual function is not required. 1156 Base
1157 type: 1157 bulbs are designed to operate in applications requiring two contacts on the base of the bulb. These dual function bulbs will light all the bulbs at half brightness when current is applied to one contact and will reach full brightness when both contacts are provided current. These bulbs are commonly used in dual function locations like tail lamp or marker lamps where the lights operate as running lamps and function as brake lamps when the brakes are applied as well as functioning as turn signals. 1157 Base
Note: Converting the bulbs in the turn signal circuit to LED/SMD bulbs will result in a need to convert your turn flasher unit (and emergency flasher unit) to one designed for the lower loads created by LED bulbs. If your vehicle uses the 2 pin flasher design, we recommend this part to complete your conversion to LED/SMD: 2 Pin LED Flasher
