If you are restoring a vintage or classic car instrument cluster with non-illuminated gauge needles, this is a must have item. Our fluorescent paint is designed for the restoration of gauge needles found in most vintage (i.e. 1980s and earlier) cars such as those found in Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Chevy Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and many more. This special paint has a high fluorescent solids content that will meet or exceed the original fluorescent coating. This is a true fluorescent paint that is specially designed to “glow” under the lights of your dash. Using a non-fluorescent paint will result in your gauge needles appearing dark or black at night and make your gauges difficult to read. Using a proper fluorescent paint is the only way to properly restore your gauge indicator needles.
Many older gauge needles fade from damaging environmental factors including exposure to direct sunlight. This paint will allow you to properly restore your gauge needles to their original factory appearance. Above you will see an actual photo of a speedometer that had a faded, “washed out” gauge needle. The image on the right is the same speedo after being restored with our product. Notice how the crisp color changes the appearance of the gauge. Even moderately faded needles can make a gauge cluster look tired and worn.
True fluorescent paint with the correct amount of fluorescent pigment can be very hard to find and expensive to buy. We have this specially packaged for our company in economical size packages so you don’t have to pay for paint that you may never use. Our vial packaging contains more than enough paint to restore all the gauges in 4 or more vehicles. For those who want more paint at a great price, we also offer our shatter-resistant plastic jars that offer twice the paint for only slightly more money. Both containers feature an airtight seal that will prevent your paint from drying out when not in use and both contain two stainless steel mixing balls that easily mix the paint in just a few shakes of your hand. Our small vial packaging contains 2.25ml of paint, while our plastic jar contains more than twice as much at 5ml.
Even if your needles still appear the correct color, the fluorescent pigment in the factory paint has faded away over the years. Fluorescent pigment will fade over time and even in the best of conditions, it will deteriorate in about 10 years. Repainting your needles will make them "glow" under gauge lights at night. This is a must have item for any classic car gauge cluster restoration.
Please note that this paint is intended for non-illuminated gauge needles. If your vehicle has translucent needles that light up, then this paint may not work for you. We cannot supply technical or warranty support for customers using this paint for purposes other than restoring non-illuminated instrument needles.

Perfect match for 1971 Mach I Mustang gauge needles
Posted by Donald M. on 16th Apr 2019
Bought this paint with an ELITE SERIES 2 light kit. What a difference. Paint was easy to apply and seemed to dry pretty fast. I used the tutorial in the tech sections of this site and that helped make it simple. My needles glow again at night. Made a huge difference for a small amount of money. Thanks for offering this product.
