The RFI Noise Filter helps prevent damage during jump starts or current surges. It eliminates radio noise by installing the noise filter on the power supply wires from the ignition. Recommended for use on MSD 7 and 8 series ignitions, but will alos work with other aftermarket ignition systems as well.

Whether you experience radio noise after installing the MSD Ignition or not, you should install an MSD Noise Filter. Electro magnetic interference (EMI) is often generated from the MSD power leads. This unwanted interference can be easily eliminated by installing an MSD Noise Filter on the heavy power supply wire coming from the MSD unit. When the MDS draws current, it will draw through the Noise Filter instead of directly from the battery, so all other accessories that operate off 12 volts, like the radio, fuel pump, engine computer, etc. will not be affected by the MSD. The Noise filter will also prevent damage to the MSD during jump-starts and will keep a vehicle's 12 volt line clean by removing any voltage spikes or current surges that could interfere with the operation of some MSD accessories such as the Soft touch Rev Control or the Two Step Module Selector. It is highly recommended that the an MSD Noise Filter be used on all installations with the MSD 7 and 8 Series Ignition to prevent this interference.
